The Secret Inheritance Trust

The Stepmother Who Threw My Toddler Into The Deep Pool

Attorney Cole: Amanda, I looked into the estate documents you asked for.

Amanda: Did you find why Victoria would want to harm my daughter?

Attorney Cole: It's much worse than we thought. Your late father-in-law created an irrevocable trust fund for Lily before he passed.

Amanda: A trust fund? How much?

Attorney Cole: Fifteen million dollars. But there is a very specific clause in the document.

Amanda: What clause?

Attorney Cole: If Lily suffers permanent physical incapacity or passes away before age eighteen, the full trust principal defaults immediately to Richard and his legal spouse.

Amanda gasped, holding her phone tightly as she sat in her lawyer's downtown office.

Amanda: Victoria knew about this, didn't she?

Attorney Cole: We pulled financial records. Victoria has accumulated over two million dollars in personal debt from failed offshore investments and luxury purchases.

Amanda: She wanted the trust money!

Attorney Cole: If Lily had an 'accident' in that pool, Victoria stands to clear all her debts and gain control of millions.

Amanda: That monster tried to kill my child for money!

Attorney Cole: We need to move fast. Did the police recover the backup video from Elena?

Amanda: Officer Miller took the drive, but Richard's legal team is already trying to block it from court submission.

Attorney Cole: They can't block it if we file an emergency motion for child endangerment and trust fraud in family court tomorrow morning.

Amanda: Do it. I want emergency full custody and a restraining order against both of them.

Attorney Cole: What about Elena? Is she safe?

Amanda: I brought Elena and her daughter to stay at my house. Victoria fired her on the spot, but I'm paying her salary now.

Attorney Cole: Excellent. Elena's testimony will be critical during the emergency hearing.

Amanda: Will the video footage be played in court?

Attorney Cole: The judge will review it in chambers first, then we play it open court to secure the protection order.

Amanda: I want Richard to see it. I want him to see who he married.

Attorney Cole: Oh, he will see it. And he won't be able to protect her anymore.

Amanda: Thank you, Robert. Please don't let them get away with this.

Attorney Cole: They won't, Amanda. Rest up. Tomorrow is going to be a long day in court.

Amanda hung up the phone and walked into the living room, where Elena was singing softly to little Lily.

Elena: She's sleeping peacefully now, Mrs. Amanda.

Amanda: Thank you, Elena. You saved my whole world today.

Elena: I would do it a thousand times over. Little Lily didn't deserve any of that cruelty.

Amanda: Tomorrow, we make sure Victoria never comes near her again.
