Marcus: Stop it, Evelyn! The glass is bulletproof, you're not getting through!
Evelyn: Give me my handbag, Marcus! I know my rights! Let me in or I will smash every window on this deck!
Marcus: I'm calling security right now!
Marcus reached for the wall intercom system, pressing the emergency override button that directly alerted the building's front desk security team and private guards downstairs.
Security Officer: Front Desk, Mr. Sterling. We saw the alert, is everything okay up there?
Marcus: Send three officers up to the penthouse immediately! My wife has assaulted my staff, attempted to harm my child, and is trying to force entry back into the residence!
Security Officer: Understood, sir! Elevators are locked in emergency mode, officers ascending right now!
Outside, hearing the loud intercom voice through the exterior speakers, Evelyn panicked. Realizing she couldn't break the glass, she grabbed her heavy designer bag from the terrace table, unzipping it rapidly. She pulled out a small silver lighter and the original red-lined legal documents she had stolen from Marcus's desk.
Elena: Look! She's trying to burn the paperwork right out there on the deck!
Marcus: Not on my watch!
Marcus instantly unlocked the digital terrace door and shoved it open, lunging forward just as Evelyn struck the flame near the edge of the thick legal paper. Marcus grabbed her wrist, twisting it sharply until the lighter dropped onto the tiles and rolled away.
Evelyn: Let go of me! You brute! That document belongs to me!
Marcus: This is my daughter's future! You will never destroy this!
Evelyn: She is not even your real daughter! Do you really think your late wife was faithful to you during those business trips to London?!
Marcus froze for a second, his grip tightening as the cruel words hung in the cold morning air. Evelyn sneered, seeing the brief hesitation in his eyes, trying to pull the paper out of his hands.
Evelyn: That's right, Marcus! Think about it! Why do you think she insisted on setting up that private trust fund under a separate legal name before she died?!
Marcus: You are lying! You're saying anything to save your own skin!
Evelyn: Check the last page of that file! Read the hidden addendum attached to the back! I found it this morning in your safe!
Marcus: I don't care what lies you fabricated! The DNA test was finalized at her birth!
Evelyn: Look at the second page, you idiot! Look at who the co-trustee actually is!
The heavy elevator bell chimed sharply inside the penthouse foyer. Heavy footsteps echoed down the hallway as three armed security guards burst onto the penthouse terrace, led by the chief building officer.
Chief Guard: Hands where we can see them! Step away from Mr. Sterling right now, ma'am!
Evelyn: Get your hands off me! Do you know who I am?! I am the lady of this penthouse!
Chief Guard: Not anymore, ma'am. Mr. Sterling owns the property deed. Restrain her until NYPD arrives!
As the guards forced Evelyn's hands behind her back and cuffed her wrists, Marcus stood shaking on the terrace, holding the saved legal document in his trembling hands. Slowly, he opened the red folder to the back page, his heart beating wildly against his ribs as he read the names listed at the bottom.
